The antibodies contained in equine serum ensure the immunity in animals for 21 – 28 days. Dynamics

of resorption and usability of antibodies during various application methods is particularly important.

The antibodies applied intravenously are contained directly in blood serum and their usability is 90%.

The serum against the foal paralysis applied subcutaneously is absorbed only slowly but usability of

globulins is 12% only.

Undesirable effects:
The preparation application for parturition induction may lead to placenta retention in Horses.

BotVax B 10ml vial

For prevention of Botulism due to Clostridium botulinum Type B in healthy horses.
Research has demonstrated that pregnant mares immunized during the third trimester of gestation, with the third dose (booster) given 2-4 weeks before partutition, respond with antibody. This antibody is concentrated in colostrum and results in significant passively acquired antibody in normal suckling foals.

Preventive administration of the vaccine should not be performed at times of heavy physical load (i.e. race horses should be vaccinated before or after racing season). In animals vaccinated within the incubation period of trichophytosis, a flare-up of the disease may occur. Such horses must be given therapeutic doses of the vaccine. With extensive trichophytic lesions, supportive local treatment should be given.Vaccine shall be used within 2 hours after its thinning!
